Sustainability isn’t solely about the environment. The employment relationship in the UK hospitality industry has become more precarious over the last ten years, due to the widespread use of new staffing methods such as subcontracting and outsourcing, and employment practices including zero-hour contracts. The demanded level of intensity and the required number of working hours also contribute to a worsening of the conditions. 

Streetours can’t force a supplier or partner to improve their working conditions, but it can choose who to partner with. Team up with local and family-owned businesses that treat their employees right is a priority. Streetours will seek to collaborate with organisations such as the Real Living Wage to identify partners and promote its values.
